I didn’t take the traditional path into fashion, I launched into it (sometimes literally). Born into a big, loud family of 13 kids and raised with little but love and hand-me-downs, I learned early how to make things work and make them mine.

After high school, I joined the U.S. Navy and spent nearly seven years working as a helicopter electrician. It was hands-on, high-pressure, and nothing short of transformative. But when I became a mom, my priorities shifted. I didn’t want deployments to mean missing milestones, bedtimes, and all the little moments that matter, so I made the decision to transition out and build a life rooted in both purpose and presence.

That’s when I taught myself how to sew. It started with wanting to make cloth diapers for my son and it quickly turned into making clothes, sketching ideas, and chasing a dream I hadn’t realized I had until the needle hit the fabric.

From there, my journey took a wild, wonderful turn into aerospace. I worked as a gas recovery technician, then helped build the Bishop Airlock with Nanoracks—now on the International Space Station. I contributed to Time Magazine’s Felix & Paul space camera project, built testing equipment for NASA’s XEMU spacesuit at Johnson Space Center, and now work at Axiom Space on the Artemis Moon Suit. I was the second seamstress hired, and last summer, I was selected to be on the Prototyping Team that collaborated with PRADA. The experience was so surreal it even earned a small mention in a magazine piece titled:
“Prada Spacesuits Are Another Houston Innovation — One Small Stitch for Astronauts, One Giant Leap for Moon Fashion.”
I was one of a few people interviewed about the project and seeing it in print was definitely a pinch-me moment.

Now, I’m a senior at Central Michigan University, earning my degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising, with a minor in Product Development and a concentration in Visual Merchandising. My work is a blend of technical skill, creative instinct, and a deep belief that fashion, like space, is a frontier for possibility.

I’m not here just to make things that look good.
I want to create things that matter! To design with purpose, answer tough questions, and solve real-world problems. Whether it's a garment, a system, or something that hasn’t been imagined yet, I want to be part of what’s next. Innovation is where I thrive and that’s exactly where I’m headed.
